A Burning Bush was seen by Moses, while he was shepherding his
father-in-law's sheep near Mount Horeb. Unknown to him, what he was
witnessing was the presence of God. Moses saw this unusual
phenomenon and was drawn to it. When he moved close enough God
spoke to him and said, "Take off your shoes, you are on holy
ground" (Exodus 3:1-6).
The "Burning Bush" is the church's Wednesday evening worship
service. This service seeks the same experience as Moses while
enraptured at the burning bush. We are drawn by the majesty and
glory of God and we, thus, praise His holy name. The event of Moses
and the bush was one of adoration and prayer. The heart of the
Wednesday evening worship service is prayer. This hour is a time
when participants come together, declare their victories (i.e.,
answered prayer) and share their spiritual needs. No one has to
pray but all are included in prayer. The basis of our union and
fellowship is shared prayer.
