Food distribution happens the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Corrales Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Distributions starts 2:00 pm and is usually finished by 4:00.

How you can helpIf you would like to serve your community through the food bank ministry there are two ways currently available:

  • Volunteers are needed in the setup and distribution of food.  To help, contact Al Montes de Oca or Willy Amaya.  Volunteers arrive at 1:00 pm the day of the distribution.
  • Monetary donations are accepted but not from any clients who currently participate in the program. You can make a check to the SDA Corrales church. MEMO to the Food Bank.

How it startedThis ministry started in late 2008 as a pilot program augmenting the pantries of 20 families.  One year later the families benefiting had more than tripled.

The opportunity to serve blesses the families in need but equally the volunteers. To care for a stranger, and experience at times the tearful gratitude of the recipient is sometimes overwhelming.

If you want to serve your community you are encouraged to come and help.  Volunteers are always in need as the needs of the community continue to increase.
